A Closer Look at The Air Jordan 10 Outsole
Before the start of the 1993-94 season, Michael Jordan retired from the NBA, and later pursued a baseball career – signing with the Chicago White Sox in 1994 – in honour of his late father.
It was speculated that the Air Jordan sneaker legacy would also come to an end, with Nike issuing retros of older Jordan models (the Air Jordan 1 and 2). To show appreciation for the star player and his countless achievements throughout his basketball career, designer Tinker Hatfield listed his NBA milestones (from 1985 to 1994) on the 10-striped outsole of the Air Jordan 10 model, leaving the door open for Jordan’s return, with “94 BEYOND†inscribed at the toe.
