Adidas Consortium x Highs and Lows EQT Running Support 93
Highs & Lows of Australia got their hands on the adidas EQT Support 93 and gave it a jaw-dropping upgrade inspired by the Interceptor, the beefed-up muscle car featured in the Mad Max franchise.
Perth, Western Australia is among the most remote urban areas on the planet – being over 2.000km away from the nearest city. From this outpost, clothing and footwear retailer Highs and Lows opened its first store in 2005, which is located on the far west of the vast desert that makes up 1.4 million km2 of mainland Australia. It is this unique location and relationship with the dry, arid, inhospitable expanse that provides the inspiration for HAL’s EQT Running Support 93.
To venture along the long-isolated roads of the Australian outback requires a tough vehicle and a tougher mentality. This EQT is based on the muscle cars that rose to cinematic and cultural significance during the 1970s and 1980s. An era where cars were gutted, hybridized and pushed to their performance limits.
Using forged neoprene, waxed sailcloth, aged cowhide and nubuck, Highs and Lows toughens the iconic runner that would fit the rugged desert wasteland battlefield where most of the Mad Max franchise takes place. Flecks of sandy gold are speckled on the midsole, while the gradient effect on the three stripes represents the iconic zoomie exhaust pipes seen on the upgraded Ford Falcon XB Coupe.
The Highs & Lows x adidas EQT Support 93 “Interceptor” will release in store at Shelflife on the 17th of December 2016 for the retail price of R2499.00
