Air Jordan XXX White/Black
The wait is finally over: Jordan Brand will be releasing the Air Jordan XXX, its 30th model of what is easily the world’s most popular basketball sneaker line.
The shoe is once again designed by legendary Nike designer - Tinker Hatfield, the man behind the Air Jordan line's most memorable silhouettes.
Tinker Hatfield first started his work on the sneaker back in February 2015, at the request of Michael Jordan himself. His design began with a sample on an infamous photo of Michael Jordan from the 1988 Dunk Contest, which evolved into a galactic figure known as "Mister Cosmos" through Hatfield's handiwork. Hatfield then brought in fellow designer Mark Smith to flesh out the silhouette, and the two collaborated on bringing the Jordan 30 to life.
The first colourway seen here in white, black and Wolf Grey, rests on top of the midsole, with a thicker outsole which allows for greater traction and overall heightened footing. The “XXX” marks at the heel have been joined to create a basketball net design. Tongue branding marks another unique addition to the budding silhouette, as it masks the logo beneath lenticular beads deeply embedded into the Flyweave construction.
The Air Jordan XXX will drop at Shelflife on Friday the 12th of February 2016.
