Air Max Day 2016 - HTM Nike Air Max Sneakers
Behind the three letters “HTM” hides a collaboration including Fragment Design founder Hiroshi Fujiwara, the legendary designer Tinker Hatfield and Mark Parker, CEO of Nike.
More than a brand, it is a real concept that explores new paths in terms of technology and design. The focus is on product research – products designed, developed and created for tomorrow. This collaboration saw the light of day back in 2002 and has already produced 32 innovative products – from simple new versions to real technological changes such as the Nike Flyknit for example.
The first project the trio created together was their own take on the Air Force 1. That idea might seem regular nowadays, but it was something new at the time. Fujiwara, Hatfield, and Parker would later go on to work on niche products such as the Air Moc Mid, Zoom Macropus, and Air Woven before introducing the breakout Flyknit to the world in 2012.
Now, for the first time, each collaborator has come up with his own riff on the Air Max. All three sneakers will be available on the 26th of March 2016 excusively in SA at Shelflife store and in Jhb at a pop up space!
Nike Air Max LD Zero H by Hiroshi Fujiwara
The Nike Air Max LD-Zero H is an all new street style icon, designed by Hiroshi Fujiwara – the founder of design house, Fragment. One of the most influential sneaker creators around, Hiroshi fuses contemporary style with his favourite silhouettes from back in the day.
Fujiwara explained that when he was creating the shoe he wanted to create “something that would resonate with people who are interested in classic styles.” The design of the Nike Air Max LD-Zero H blends the upper of the classic Nike Boston with sole unit of the Air Max 2014. As far as materials go, the shoe has been crafted with nylon, leather and suede in a blue colour palette with white accents for that lifestyle appeal.
