Back to the City 2019
All roads lead to Newtown this weekend as we get to celebrate Freedom Day at Back to the City 2019! Being in its 13th year, this Saturday sees the annual event take to the usual Mary Fitzgerald Square, and as always the line-up and turn out is going to be one of the biggest of the year. Expect 60 Artists, 30 Djs, Graffiti Artists, Breakdancers, Bmx, Skaters, 10 Live Bands, Freestyle Football, Stalls and so much more! Check it out below!
This unique youth event has grown into the largest public display of both commercial and underground hip hop in Africa, presenting a day of live music, street art, break-dancing, art installation, skateboarding, film, street fashion, gaming, speakers and panel discussions. From the daytime events to the nightly performances, this is one time that the inner city comes alive with true freedom of expression providing a destination for hip hop fans, artists and industry related individuals to converge and celebrate the experience of hip hop and youth culture.
