EXCLUSIVE: Converse x Engineered Garments Capsule

Creative Director and founder of Engineered Garments, Daiki Suzuki, lends his clean aesthetic to Converse for a collaborative collection featuring the One Star.

When you think of Converse sneakers, you usually think of the classic Chuck Taylor. But 2017 has been the year of the One Star. Versions produced in collaboration with Tyler, the Creator, A$AP Nast, and Clot all helped elevate the style from wardrobe staple to coveted must-have. Now NYC-meets-Japan label Engineered Garments gets a shot at the sneaker.

Engineered Garments are known for their insanely well produced clothing, renowned by streetwear and workwear fans around the world. The two brands have teamed up for a tonal set of One Star’s, coming in four different colourways. There’s nothing elaborate or exquisite about this collaboration, it’s stripped right back to the essentials much like Engineered Garments classic style. Coming in monochromatic black and white, plus a deep navy and olive green, these models feature a leather upper accented with a leather liner which provides a high-end feel. Other elements include - the tonal flat cotton laces, perforated side panels, One Star branding on the side panels, embroidered heel branding, vulcanized rubber midsole, high rubber foxing, all atop a comfortable rubber outsole.

The Engineered Garments x Converse collection releases November 2nd in-store at our Rosebank, JHB store along with an online release at 5h30pm.
