#FactsFriday ”“ Who is Daniel Ting Chong?
By now you’ve seen our next stop for the Shelflife 10 Year Anniversary colab journey, and the artist we’re joining forces with is non-other than Daniel Ting Chong. If you don't know the name by now here is a little reminder to the last mega project from the man. Daniel partnered with the German giant puma at the end of last year to bring out an official colab, releasing globally and featured below.
Daniel Ting Chong is an illustrator, designer, and artist based in Cape Town, South Africa. He was part of Design Indaba's Emerging Creatives programme back in 2008.
Daniel was born in Cape Town, and studied graphic design at Vega. He is considered as one of Cape Town’s top creative talents following a series of art exhibitions, talks, commissions from clients and design collaborations with leading international brands including Nike, The New York Times and Red Bull.
Daniel, who has a really diverse portfolio, is known for doing pretty much everything from making soap to designing socks. Along with coming up with restaurant concepts to illustrations for merchandise to even creating pillowcases and decorating collectable toys for exhibiting at art galleries. He has received some amazing exposure for his work on with magazine covers for the New York Times, talks for TedX, Loerie gold, collaborations with Nike and the Mail & Guardian.
Never short of on-going creative projects and collaborations with local and abroad design agencies, Daniel is definitely one to keep your eyes on in the design world, locally and globally.
