Low Bros Paint a Deserted Supermarket
The duo Low Bros recently showed-off their latest mural work that used their retro-futuristic art style to transfom a deserted supermarket. For those who don't know, Low Bros are a pair of German brothers (Christoph and Florin Schmidt), formerly active as graffiti writers Qbrk and Nerd. Their work often centres around stylised characters, and addresses graffiti, Hip Hop, skateboarding and other elements which influenced and shaped the two brother's youth in the 80s and 90s.
Low Bros latest work is located at an abandoned US supermarket in Heidelberg, Germany. The outdoor art project portrays the pair’s signature retro-futuristic motifs across the building's facade, entryway, and outside columns. The bold visuals are a take on a number of recognised brands including Pepsi’s logo, patterning from Marble Notebooks, as well as Penn Tennis Balls - similar to how Supreme do it. 
“The supermarket was the perfect playground for us to implement some of our new ideas. Recently, we started integrating products into our images to reflect our relationship with brands and their goods,” said the Low Bros. “To what extent can art and brands be combined, and what is our general relationship to the products that surround us daily and are so deeply rooted in our lives? All these relationships are often ambivalent. We use this product that makes us feel good or optimise our lives, but at the same time it might harm the environment, or we support an evil company.”
