Nike Introduces the Air Max Zero
As the countdown to the annual Air Max Day continues, Nike revisits the archives for an extra special release of the Air Max Zero.
Having introduced Air Sole Units in the late 70's with the Tailwind, Nike's concept of Air grew in popularity, gaining success mainly from running enthusiasts and athletes alike. During the mid 80's, Nike's then architect, Tinker Hatfield, decided to showcase Nike's Air Sole Units, and famously designed a silhouette that would make the invisible... visible.
Deemed too advanced for its time, the innovative; almost futuristic ; design would be met with high levels of contestation, seeing the technology of the 80s too insufficient to bring Hatfield's vision into fruition. As the budding designer returned to the drawing board, the original design was archived... until now.
Debuting for the first time for Air Max Day 2015, Nike showcases Tinker Hatfield's original Air Max design with the Air Max Zero.
The Nike Air Max Zero will be available from 12h00 (CAT) on the 26th of March, exclusively from Shelflife and 25PSI. Prices and sizes to be confirmed. Stay tuned to the Shelflife Online Store and social media sites for more information.
