The Nike Air Tech Challenge 2 Returns

Revered as one of the most legendary tennis players of all time, Andre Agassi led his career with on-point technical performance and a hint of rebellion in the face of tradition. After joining Nike in 1988, Agassi, and the Tinker Hatfield designed Air Tech Challenge 2, would change the face of tennis and mix up the sneaker game for years to come.

Honoured as the quintessential tennis shoe from the period, the Air Tech Challenge 2 and the iconic Hot Lava colourway; that eventually spanned into apparel ranges; challenged conventional tennis aesthetics, and become synonymous with prodigious talent and superior performance.

Pairing ground breaking sneaker design with a slew of colours, the Air Tech Challenge 2 offered lightweight comfort for optimum performance during game play, with an external moulded heel counter for an improved fit, and a visible two-piece Nike Air cushioning system for supreme cushioning. Built with a white synthetic leather upper, bold colours infiltrated the build, seeing the signature paint splatter motof, symbolic of Agasi’s powerful backhand, travel across the shoe.

Following Agassi’s 2013 return to the Nike brand, the Air Tech Challenge 2 silhouette begins its series of renditions in bright colours and eye-catching prints, with the noteworthy retro release of the OG Hot Lava colourway returning for just the second time.
