Vans x RHUDE Bold NI Pack
No better an inspiration than Southern California, Vans releases the Bold NI with a little help from fellow local RHUDE.
Designed through the eyes of Rhuigi Villaseñor, who grew up within the skate culture of the city, the collaboration is more of a reflection of nostalgia with vintage cars at the centre of two diverse colourways. Not too far from the norm while still retaining the streetwear label’s patented design sense, the upper’s are relatively unchanged save for their colour swathes: the oversized Jazz stripe sits just atop the eyestays and leads down through the curvature of the silhouette with soles each bearing a white base embellished by a banner print of “RHUDE” stylised as if a classic license plate.
The black pair evokes connection to the Porsche Carrera, and the blue a Mercedes 280 SL - all dyed along the Anaheim’s brands signature assortment of suedes and canvas coupled with some heritage nods by way of the checkerboard insole print across the UltraCush Lite footbed.
The Vans x RHUDE Bold NI Pack drops 1 November for the retail price of R1499 each exclusively to Shelflife CPT and JHB on a first come first served basis. JHB from 9am, CPT from 10am.
