A Look Inside: Nike's New Shapa Soweto Training Centre
Nike have unveiled a brand new multi- disciplinary sports centre, aimed at inspiring and empowering the next generation of athletes. The new centre, based in Soweto Johannesburg, includes a 400m running track, a skate park, training studio and dance studios, two FIFA-accredited football fields, as well as two small-sided fields.
But that's not all - we are talking about Nike after all. The brand has a strong connection with athletes and creatives, something that will be fully utilised at Shapa Soweto.
The new facility will be powered by a strong Nike collective including athletes, trainers, choreographers, celebrated football, and local sports coaches. The programming includes a drive to create safe spaces for women enabling access, growth, and development of female athletes across all sporting codes.
