adidas Football and the Orlando Pirates have today announced the latest evolution of their innovative partnership. With football apparel becoming increasingly viewed as a lifestyle product worn beyond the stadium, the new range is designed to deliver unique streetwear style.
The Orlando Pirates will go into the new season with kit that delivers advanced performance as well as a new contemporary look. The black home kit with white trim and white away kit with black trim have a clean and sleek appearance, with the adidas three stripes placed on the shoulder to bring a retro football feel. Climacool technology provides heat and moisture management in the most testing conditions, as does Climalite technology in the shorts that removes the need for an inner mesh. The club crest is heat applied while a debossed skull and cross bones on the back of the jersey brings out the personality of this unique team.
With football gear being increasingly viewed as a lifestyle product, adidas Football has for the first time revealed a limited edition Orlando Pirates ICON jersey. Influenced by South African culture and the archives of this historic club, the home jersey has been specifically re-designed through a street style lens. A Twill Applique bespoke oversized name and number, embroidered woven crest and use of the original skull and cross bones debossed on the neck differentiate the kit from the performance model and give the ICON jersey an uncompromising fashion look. The fabric has changed to Pique with mesh insert removed for the street version but Climacool technology means fans can take advantage of the same cooling innovation. The range also includes tops designed for cage players and presentation jackets that feature the same three-stripe design across the shoulder. Accessories such as baseball caps and bags complete the lifestyle range.
