adidas Originals New York x Daniel Arsham | CM7193 is a collaborative effort between the German sportswear giants and the American artist. This newest collab is a reimagining of a fan favourite silhouette, the New York.
For this release, the shoe stays true to its original 80s blueprint with a number of stylistic updates. Inspired by Arsham’s fascination with the concept of archaeology and 20th century cultural artifacts, this adidas New York features a deteriorated canvas upper in Chalk White with frayed edges. Arsham’s collaborative shoe goes with a minimalist approach, using a rugged construction. Like most of his previous work, there are messages within the shoe’s design like the phone number on the leather heel patch which is a nod to the earlier campaign from adidas and Arsham. But the highlight of the shoe is its invisible print on the midsole that reads, “THE PAST IS PRESENT”, which is only visible when viewed under Ultra Violet light, complimented by UV-sensitive stitching on the Three Stripes.
The adidas Originals New York x Daniel Arsham will drop in our CPT and JHB store on Saturday the 19th of August 2017 for the retail price of R2599.00
