adidas Originals Studio x Shelflife: Weekend Rundown
Tomorrow night we join forces with adidas to launch the ADIZERO ARUKU sneaker, as part of the second edition of Originals Studio - a unique space created to motivate and uplift Joburg’s dynamic creative scene.
In anticipation of the weekend, which will feature a series of interactive workshops, live podcast sessions, music and a pop-up café, we’re giving you a rundown of what to expect on each day as well as a detailed look at the adidas ADIZERO ARUKU’s.
Originals Studios Weekend
The events are split into Live Podcast recordings in the morning, followed by intimate workshops. While the workshops are invite only, all are welcome to join the live podcast recordings where our hosts will be sharing insights into their creative worlds.
FRIDAY, 29 NOVEMBER
The weekend kicks-off tomorrow night with a friends and family launch celebration at the adidas Originals Studio x Shelflife Store pop-up, warming things up for the full Saturday and Sunday itinerary.

ADIZERO ARUKU
adidas has been dominating the world of lifestyle sneakers with the resurgence of OG silhouettes and reinterpretations of many football classics, and now is reinventing the ADIZERO running shoe. Designed around the notion of perpetual movement, the ARUKU is a running-inspire lifestyle silhouette that merges athletic performance with everyday comfort.
The sneaker sees a one-piece breathable mesh upper in two bold colourways, offset by TPU overlay panels and a heel counter for added stability. The panelling which is draped across the upper creates a distinctive cutout pattern, replicated on the colourblocked sole of each sneaker. Finally, the ADIZERO ARUKU features adidas’ latest Swirlfoam cushioning, adding an element of both style and functionality to the design.
