Awake NY x ASICS Gel-Lyte III Pack
Continuing a partnership that stretches back to 2019, Awake NY and ASICS join forces once again to rework the classic GEL-LYTE III silhouette in two new colourways. Released as a running shoe in the early ’90s, the Gel-Lyte III has now been revised in bright and youthful colours, serving as bold lifestyle sneakers.
Starting in 2012, Awake NY was founded by former Supreme brand director Angelo Baque with a logo-driven approach, becoming known for its signature flowing script motif. The brand is a reflection of the diversity that has defined NY's cultural landscape. Simultaneously classic and contemporary, Awake NY evokes both the changing aesthetic vibrancy and timelessness of New York. Many remember the Carhartt WIP collaboration with Awake NY, as well as other heavy-hitting releases with Moncler, Reebok and Vans, to name a few.
Similar to their previous work with the Japanese footwear brand, the Awake NY name is printed right onto the heel of all three GEL-LYTE IIIs. In addition, Angelo Baque and his team have played around with the shoe’s Tiger Stripe, rendering it entirely see-through. A dark netting has been inserted across the mid-panel as well as just under the heel tab, the latter of which sports a silver metallic finish on each colourway. The pairs differ across their suede overlays and nylon base, opting for either Tan and Blue or Green and Cream colour palettes. A co-branded box in silver metallic completes the pack.
