deadHYPE x adidas ZX 8000
Paying homage to the ZX range that changed performance footwear forever, adidas teams up with multiple creators to do it again! Torsion, Soft Sole and all the ZX goodness from past - updated for today.
Introduced in 1988, the 8000 was the first ZX shoe to feature the now-iconic Torsion bar that gave runners arch support while allowing for flexibility in the forefoot and heel.
With this important history in mind, first up in the series is deadHYPE's take on the adidas ZX 8000. Berlin-based creative collective deadHYPE teamed up with adidas as part A to ZX celebration to put their own purple and pink twist on a classic. deadHYPE reworks the iconic ZX 8000 with premium purple leather panelling on the upper. Co-branded detailing is found throughout, as the collective really stamps its mark on the silhouette by removing adidas’ iconic Three Stripe branding in favour of a blank leather panel.
The adidas x deadHYPE ZX 8000 drops 18 September for R1899 at Shelflife CPT and JHB on a first come first served basis. Both stores open at 10am.
