KFC Launch Doughnut Zinger Burger
KFC SA celebrated 50 years with the launch of their pop-up at the Zone in Rosebank last week. Called #Kentuckytown, the pop-up saw celebrities like Anele Mododa and Thembi Mrototo turn up, all celebrating South Africa's most popular fried chicken's half century. But it was something new on the special menu that had everyone talking. Besides the brand’s famous sauces that were for sale was something else which took many by surprise - a doughnut Zinger burger
The weird food combination trend has taken the world by storm, so it was only a matter of time till a fast food brand would jump on the bandwagon. The doughnut Zinger burger is, you guessed it; a Zinger breast tucked between two glazed ring doughnuts. KFC SA later went to Twitter to officially announce the new creation and the responses were extremely mixed. Some people couldn't wait to get their hands on a Doughnut Zinger Burger, while others wanted to know who exactly asked for it, calling it a ‘Crime against humanity’.
The pop-up also sees a wide variety of KFC apparel you can cop so you can fully flex the Colonel Sanders GANG. The apparel sees KFC joining forces with local creatives David Slaying Goliath, Thesis Lifestyle and Yay Abe.
