MSCHF AC.1
Well-known for creating extremely viral activations and stunts, MSCHF practically lives outside of the box. And hot off the heels of their latest Gobstopper shoe, the Brooklyn-based subversives are delivering yet another unique footwear proposition: the AC-1.
A stark departure from their previous offerings, the MSCHF AC-1 is for the most adventurous wearer. The shoe (clearly) draws heavy influence from orthopedic boots, turning what is typically an uncomfortable, unpleasant experience into a display of high fashion. And though the construction may be a bit more wearable than its doctor-issued counterpart — featuring a sneaker-like sole unit and sockliner as well as additional inner cushioning — much of the AC-1’s design is identical to its inspiration.
"The first time I ever saw someone wearing a walking boot I thought it looked incredible," said Daniel Greenberg, MSCHF co-founder. "Industries with little to no regard for aesthetics designing objects for utilitarian purposes churn out bangers like no one else."
The MSCHF AC.1 drops exclusively to Shelflife in SA at our CPT and JHB stores on 20 October. No online release. R6999 each.
First come first serve from 10am. Units are EXTREMELY limited.
Sizes: UK6, UK7, UK8, UK9, UK10, UK11.
Some Past MSCHF Creations
This is most probably not the first time you've seen MSCHF's work. From Gobstopper shoes that wear away, to Air Max 97s with human blood or Holy Water and even 'Eat the Rich' ice cream, MSCHF really pushes boundaries and breaks the internet on a monthly basis. They have never been limited to anything and we are so excited to have formed a relationship with the team for this AC.1 release and beyond.
