Needles x Reebok Instapump Fury 94
Needles puts the butterfly effect on the Reebok Instapump Fury 94, as the sports brand celebrates its 30th anniversary of the iconic silhouette. Known for its butterfly emblem and deconstructed style, the Japanese brand Needles blends their mix of American Ivy League, grunge, and Japanese fashion with Reebok’s performance aesthetic.
The Reebok Instapump Fury was a groundbreaking sneaker that redefined footwear design. Created by legendary sneaker designer, Steven Smith, the shoe was built around Pump Technology which allowed users to inflate air chambers into the upper for an adjustable fit. Although initially polarizing due to its unconventional design, the Instapump remains a sneaker icon.
Following on fom previous collaborations between Nedles and Reebok, like their reintroduction of the “Beatnik Slide”, this 2024 collab truly lives up to expectation with its monochromatic design and interesting use of materials. This version of the “Instapump Fury 94” comes in two staple colourways — black and “Canvas,” each preserving the original sneaker’s revolutionary design while adding elevated details. Both styles feature the distinctive brand’s signature butterfly emblem embroidered on the toe box, sleek patent leather panelling around the Pump and premium leather accents on the toe and tongue.
No matter the interpretation, the legendary feature of the Instapump remains- its innovative Pump technology, allowing wearers to customize their fit by pressing a button on the tongue that inflates the internal chamber for personalised comfort.
The Needles x Reebok collab is a perfect interpretation of the Instapump through the avant-garde yet wearable lens we’ve come to love about Needles.
