New Balance "Made in the USA" S3 Purple Pack
Teddy Santis knows what he’s doing when it comes to elevated streetwear. Entering his second year as creative director for New Balance’s “Made in the USA” line, Santis and New Balance have a knack for taking beloved favourites and re-imagining them through an updated lens. This all comes together in the latest MADE collection where, amongst the usual neutral tones which is classic to New Balance, their vibrant purple colourway returns with a fresh perspective.
Featuring a 990v6 and accompanying apparel, the Season 3 collection is a nod to sports heritage. Taking cues from the 2009 United Arrows x New Balance 997.5, this New Balance 990v6 “Magenta Pop” is dressed in a perfect balance of cream, rich purple and bright pink. The mesh base layers boasts an off-white palette with matching “Macadamia Nut” suede mudguards. The panelled uppers see purple hits on the N logo, the branded tongue, the collar of the shoe, and even running through the sole of the sneaker. Pink accents are draped across the side of the upper up to the toe-box as well as the heeltab, rounding off this clean design.
The apparel sees the same vibrant purple colourway of the 990v6’s appear on a NB Made in the USA crewneck, jogger and tee. Both the crew and bottoms are made from 440gsm heavyweight French terry fabric whilst the shirt is crafted with 195gsm cotton jersey fabric. The items are completed with a simple red and white embroidered patch logo, continuing to honour and celebrate New Balance’s rich history and artistry.
New Balance is proving that it's here to stay. With its new 576 collab with brands like Studio FY7 by Younes Bendjima, the initially mysterious Aminé x Club Banana 610, and now this "Made in the USA" purple pack- the brand is always offering something exciting while staying true to its roots.
