PUMA X P.A.M SS23 COLLECTION
The jungle of North Sumatra in Indonesia is one of the only places in the world where you can see tigers, rhinos, orangutans and exotic birds living in harmony (somewhat). Puma and Australian independent brand Perks and Mini (P.A.M) give us a glimpse into this dream-like natural space, which is one of the last wild places left on earth.
Spanning four seasons, the PAM/PUMA BIO/VERSE initiative pushes the limits of Puma’s creative partnerships with a focus on climate, sustainability and the future of the world around us. Thus, 2023 brings the second instalment of the BIO/VERSE project which us built by DEEP Foundations, to directly support biodiversity monitoring surveys, community-led ranger patrols and habitat restoration in the buffer-zones surrounding the Gunung Leuser National Park in North Sumatra.
For this season the campaign brings to life one of the key themes behind the collaboration: the continued exploration of our biodiverse world. Modelled by Thaiboy Digital and his partner Cartoon, the two brands deliver a range of innovative pieces that showcases Puma’s technical sportswear in the “psy-active” aesthetic that P.A.M is known for. The collaboration truly boasts more than meets the eye- with an increase in agribusiness eating away at the Sumatra jungle, the environment had to be navigated in a way that protects and promotes conservation. This rallied together a crew comprising of storytellers, environmental scientists, rangers, and conservationists, all using their expertise to honour the space
Inspired by the lush terrain of the jungle- full of life and wonder, the collection features a whimsical Puma x P.A.M collab print, and vibrant colourways inspired the greenery and animals that inhabit the space. The range of materials used in this collection, which are designed to withstand the toughest of conditions, only elevate the collection and reinforce the idea of being one with the outdoors, with its water-resistant fabrics, durable soles, and sturdy hardware.
