PUMA x Super Puma Mascot
Many years later… Super Puma returns in full force. The iconic mascot from PUMA’s 80’s comic book collection emerges from his hiatus to celebrate the brands 75th anniversary. Following the Super Puma PFP NFT makeover earlier this year as well as the new comic book "Many, Many, Many Years Later" which tells of events years after the PUMA Archive, the PUMA x Super Puma Mascot collection is the next fun and innovative way that the streetwear company is celebrating its origins.
The fearless green cat is the inspiration behind the capsule, which includes three collectible pieces with special packaging and limited edition accents.
Unboxing the shoes first unveils a black and white copy of the original comic book story printed on silk paper. Beneath this, sits a Super Puma Mascot teddy created in collaboration with German toy company Steiff. The Super R698 sneaker features deep green suede uppers and sees a strong reference to the hero through its soft, fuzzy yellow laces and matching stripes all in the Super Puma colour scheme. An embroidered mascot sits on the tongue, and the sneaker boasts detachable hangtags and custom insoles. The shoe is rounded off with traction-focused white, green and yellow panelled rubber outsoles.
The collection also includes a matching Super Jacket and mascot tee. The college jacket has a fuzzy patch of Super Puma’s head on the front, and another simple patch on the sleeve and back. The inside of the jacket is lined with a special edition mascot print in a vibrant yellow colour, and made to keep you cozy. The jacket is finished with a white trim, which draws inspo from the Puma T7 tracksuits, allowing for the brand to celebrate its OG roots.
The last piece of the collection keeps it simple and classic with a black tee with the same embroidered Super Puma mascot placed as a subtle detail on the front. The apparel is made from high-quality materials that are designed to be durable and comfortable, making it perfect for everyday wear.
