Red Bull BC One Kicks Off This Weekend (24 - 26 June)
Breaking (break dancing) in South Africa has come leaps and bounds over the past few years and with the inclusion of the sport at the Paris Olympics in 2024, the drive and spirits of the country’s top breakers is at an all-time high. In celebration of 15 years in South Africa, Red Bull BC One are hosting a three-day camp leading up to the national final! This weekend also sees a graffiti battle on Friday from 3pm and Hip Hop battles on Saturday 26 June.
The action-packed schedule of workshops, exhibition battles and screenings will feature Red Bull BC One world champion B-Boy Lilou (France) and more local and international breaking talent.
Leading up to the final, Friday 24 June features the graffiti battles (open to the public), as well as an exhibition battle between artists. Saturday 26 June sees the Hip Hop finalists battle it out after qualifying earlier this year. Check out the line-up here.
The search for the best breakers for Red Bull BC One comes to an end with the national final on Sunday, 26 June. The 16 B-Boys and 8 B-Girls will go head-to-head with the one b-boy and b-girl heading to New York to represent South Africa at the Red Bull BC One World Final in November 2022.
Red Bull BC One Camp kicks off today 24 June from 2pm and runs until Sunday 26 June ending with an Afterparty. Cape Town Stadium, Fritz Sonnenberg Rd, Green Point, Cape Town, 8051.
