Designer Lukhanyo Mdingi has fast become a household name. Working hard in the local scene, Mdingi has grown to become someone the whole world is paying close attention to.
Lukhanyo grew up in the Eastern Cape, going on to study fashion design at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. After studying, Lukhanyo won multiple local awards for his work (most notably, ELLE's Rising Star Design Award), before making it big globally. Last year, Lukhanyo Mdingi won the prestigious Karl Lagerfeld LVMH Prize - a massive moment for his brand and South African designers alike. Growing from strength to strength, Lukhanyo's brand is currently stocked at world-renowned stores like Netaporter, SSENSE and Selfridges. A true inspiration, Lukhanyo shows South African artists that anything is possible.
