Salehe Bembury x Crocs Juniper 'Tahini'
It’s hard to forget the moment when Salehe Bembury first teased the Crocs Juniper sneaker – unveiling the silhouette by plastering its image on a billboard with the tagline, “the outdoors is yours.” Before the official release, Bembury took the Crocs Juniper sneaker for a test hike, affirming its outdoor capabilities - and now the sneaker is making its official world-wide debut.
This isn’t Bembury's first venture with Crocs. Since his first Crocs collab, where he introduced the Pollex Clog, Bembury’s unique approach breathed new life into Crocs’ traditional designs. The Bembury Clog became an instant hit, reigning in a new era for Crocs in high-fashion and streetwear circles, and the Juniper sneaker is no different.
The Crocs Juniper is anything but ordinary with bold colour-blocking and architectural styling. The essence of the Pollex molding finds an organic scaffolding around the sole with layered translucent detailing for extra dimension. Nylon cushioning, breezy ventilation holes, and a pull tab on the heel for easy on/off wear make this sneaker what it is today, holding the essence of both Bembury and Crocs.
The first “Guava” colourway sold out instantly, leaving fans clamouring for more. Following that, the designer revealed a more subtle “Tahini” colourway which, luckily, is available now. The Tahini Juniper stays true to the original, seeing the Crocs signature ventilation holes be reimagined in combination with mesh detailing, offering breathability and a functional look. The goo-like sole, a hallmark of Bembury’s playful designs, promises solid grip and, of course, Crocs comfort.
With each release, Salehe Bembury continues to redefine the intersection of streetwear and outdoor functionality, solidifying his place as one of the most innovative designers in footwear today.
