Shelflife x Jordan 2 Birthday Celebration
As our 17th Birthday approaches on the 10th of November, it's crazy for us to think that it has been one year since the release of our very own Jordan 2!
The moment still feels incredibly momentous - the first global Jordan collab on the continent, something which hopefully opens the doors for many more like it in Africa. The collab is more than just a sneaker but shines light on Shelflife and the community that helped establish us as one of SA’s top sneaker destinations. Our story as told in the iconic stained glass window in the Joburg Flagship store, and the essence of Team Only was the inspiration for the collection and is a testament to the power of a unified team.
On our Birthday we would like to give you a gift! Our people & community who make Shelflife what it is today. We want to give as many South African’s as possible the opportunity to become a part of TEAM ONLY and to own a pair of the Shelflife x Jordan 2 Retro SP.
To this end, we are repricing the last few pairs of our sneaker to R1499 as of the 10th of November 2023.

This week we take a look back on some of the highlight moments through the journey of our collab- with everything from unreleased graphics and designs, to archive pics, to documenting some special people from all over the world who slipped into a pair of our Team Only sneakers. It’s truly a week of celebrations!
THE DESIGN:
Starting off with the design itself and some unreleased samples back from the team at Jordan. Each pair has something special about it, but in the end we went for a design we knew would be timeless, versatile, and have subtle call-backs to the original Jordan 2, including the updated African Plate Lizard pattern on the collar.

THE LAUNCH:
The 20th of October 2022 saw the release of our collab with Jordan Brand. One year on and this still sits as one of the most special night for us in both cities, sharing it with you, our people.
The main event took place in JHB with a line-up of those we call family, including Chocolate Sinclair, DJ Doowap, Desiree, Deniece Marz, Blxckie, Uncle Partytime, DJ LeSoul and Raiko - all captured and broadcasted by our friends at The Other Radio.
The CPT event was held at the OG store and accompanied by drinks and snacks to celebrate.
One year on and this still sits as one of the most special night for us in both cities, sharing it with the people who made Shelflife what it is today.
