Smart Insoles That Improve Your Running

With CES 2020 in full swing, you can expect tons of exciting and weird announcements from the technology side of the world. One of these announcements is a set of new running insoles that track and coaches you during and after your workout.
Created by Nurvv, the insoles contain 32 sensors that, along with mobile apps and included GPS trackers, provide updates on standard stats like cadence, step length and overall pace while you're in mid-stride. But you can also analyse your run once you're cooling off. The app will show display your pronation (foot roll) and footstrike (how much of the forefoot hits the ground). With this information, you’ll be able to see if new running techniques are making a real difference.
“Nurvv Run will revolutionise how people run by accurately capturing the metrics that matter most, directly from the point of action, before using live coaching to help them improve in a simple, easy-to-understand way.”
One of the most important features is probably the way Nurvv’s insoles can tell you when to ease off - identifying problems early to prevent injuries or warning you when you are training too often. Nurvv’s product is not exactly new though, as we have seen connected sneakers from big brands in the past. The difference with this product is the amount of information you get, and the fact that you can add the insole to any running shoe you like. The insoles also allow you to use your own Apple Watch or Garmin as the GPS tracker, if you already have one of those.
Pre-orders for the Nurvv insoles are now open for a hefty price of about R4250 ($300). See it on their website now!
