Stepney Workers Club Comes To SA
Stepney Workers Club (SWC) is an East London brand inspired by the inclusive culture of traditional Workers Sports Clubs. The brand message 'Freedom Of Sport, Freedom Of Thought' and the handshake symbol represent the values, liberal thinking and unity that we associate with these groups. The unisex footwear is a rethink of timeless, genreless vulcanized classics that have been adopted by varying sub-cultures over the decades. SWC is a free-thinking approach with a spirit that feels relevant again today, and we are so excited to welcome Stepney into the Shelflife family, exclusively in SA.
SWC oozes versatility and casual cool, which is personified by three main sneaker styles: the slip-on Lister, low-top Dellow, and high-top Varden. All three styles feature vulcanized sole units as well as heavy-duty, durable-yet-supple canvas uppers. True to its timeless ethos, the brand’s sneakers mainly come in utilitarian in black and all-white.
One of their most recognisable models, the Dellow S-Strike has been crafted with a vulcanized rubber sole along with a S-Strike rubber heel patch. The shoe also comes with high-wall foxings alongside concealed siped tread and cotton canvas uppers. Rounding off the iconic Dellow design, the S-Strike family also features a padded nylon sports tongue that’s included to increase the levels of comfort. No stranger to collaborations either, Stepney Workers Club has released footwear with END., Junya Watanabe and Goodhood to name a few.
