The Shoe Surgeon Celebrates Virgil's Legacy with Custom LV Air Jordan 1s

You would have to be living under a rock to have missed the recent release of the Air Force 1 x Louis Vuitton. Two hundred pairs of the special sneaker were created by the late and great Virgil Abloh, which sold for a combined R381 million ($25.3 million) at a Sotheby's auction. Now, The Shoe Surgeon has applied the same theme to two other popular Nike models, while paying homage to Abloh and the legacy he left behind.

The capsule’s Air Jordan 1 High is a much closer replication of the original colourway. Built of authentic LV bags, the silhouette features the iconic monogram-patterned leather across its entire profile, flaunting both the usual logo hits and elegant brown finish. This is then paired with the lighter Damier canvas, which outfits the toe, collar, and Swoosh.

The Air Jordan 1 Low offers an identical quality, though the colourway itself reverses that of the AJ1 High. Damier canvas takes a much greater portion of the stage, while its darker counterpart is relegated to the toe, heel tab, and Swoosh.

Currently, both pairs are available in limited sizes via thesurgeon.com, with the High sitting at a retail price of R151k ($10,000) and the low at a cheaper R114k ($7,500).
